Do you offer 24 hour access?

It depends on the unit selected. Most units are accessible 24 hours a day but some are only accessible from 8am to 9pm (7 days a week).

Is your office on-site?

Yes, it is located across from the security gate.

Where are you located?

We are located in Dartmouth, about 1.5 kms from Forrest Hills Parkway and Cole Harbour Road.

Are there restrictions to what can be stored?

Regulations prohibit the storage of certain goods. You alone control the access to your storage space. Never store live animals, perishables, liquids, explosives, flammable liquids and fuels, toxic materials or other items that need a controlled environment. Remember to drain the fuel from gasoline engines before storage. Unless heated, units are not suitable for goods that are sensitive to freezing.

Do I need insurance and can you supply it?

We recommend it. Similar to other property rentals, content insurance is the responsibility of the renter. Since we currently do not offer insurance services, we suggest you check with your own insurance provider to see if they can provide coverage. Ask your insurance agent if they can provide coverage.

Do you take reservations?

Yes, we recommend calling 1 – 2 weeks in advance of your start date to reserve as availability fluctuates.

Do you keep waiting lists when space is unavailable?

Yes, we maintain a call list and can contact you when the next space becomes available.

Do I have to come into the office to rent a unit?

Yes, we do require you to come into the office to pick up lock and keys, locate the unit and sign up.

What payment types do you accept?

Debit, cash, cheque, Visa and Mastercard.

Do I need to set up automatic payments?

We strongly recommend setting up automatic payments for your benefit, preventing being charged late fees.

Can I set up automatic payments?

Yes, by Visa, Mastercard, pre–authorized chequing (we need the bank form or a void cheque of the account that you want it withdrawn from), or by post dated cheques.

What is the minimum rental period?

We have a minimum rental period of one month.

How much notice do I need to give before vacating?

You do not have to commit to a term any longer than 1 month. You can stay as long as you wish and we only require 1 week notice to vacate.

Do you have tractor trailer access?

Large Tractor Trailers can only access certain areas of our compound. Let us know if Tractor trailer access is a requirement and we will do our best to find a suitable unit. Regular size moving trucks can access all areas of the compound.

Do you offer moving services?

No, we are strictly a self storage facility.

Do you offer any discounts?

We offer a 5% discount for military members. Military ID and automatic payments are required to receive discounts.

Our Units

How do I select a storage space?

Storage space rentals are determined by size. An efficiently packed small space will cost less than a larger space. if you frequently use the space, a large and well organized (racks and file boxes) unit may be more convenient. We can help recommend a size based on your requirements and we suggest calling 1 –2 weeks in advance of your start date to reserve as availability fluctuates.

What size unit is recommended for a house with a lot of furniture or vehicle storage?

This requires a large size. Again there are many other sizes but the most common for this use is 10 X 20 and 10 X 25.

What size unit is recommended for house de-cluttering?

Typically done with a small size, something which will accommodate boxes and totes and some furniture. Other sizes can be used for this but 5 X 10 is the most common size for this use.

Do you offer outdoor storage for vehicles or trailers?

Do you offer electric outlets inside your units?

No. The units are for storage only and no electric outlets are available.

Accessing Units

Are all units drive-up accessible?

Not all. Many of them are drive-up accessible and we also have units inside corridors.

Are there stairs required to get to my unit?

No there are no stairs. However, some loading doors have ramps.

Do you supply the locks?

Yes, we do supply the locks.

What do I do if I have lost the information needed to access my unit?

Please come into the office with valid ID.
